By the time of the Classical Greeks, all history of the Mycenaeans
had been replaced by a legend to explain these stones,
which the Classical Greeks could not explain or duplicate. Legend told
that the Titan Cyclopes had laid these stones in antiquity,
before Zeus and the Gods conquered the Titans and created Man.
